He disguised his fear and self blame with anger as the Lord of Dreams was summoned. The Maia was fully capable of reversing the gentle spell but Fëanor insisted upon seeing Irmo himself. Maedhros was discovered curled up in a nearby grove, traces of an enchanted water upon his fingers. Fëanor had always felt a deep unease with bringing his children into Lórien and was in a place between rage and panic as they searched for his young son. On his second visit he wandered away from Fëanor during a tense conversation his father had gotten into with one of the Maiar. Fëanor did not wish to bring his children there but Maedhros wanted very much to see the Gardens, not fully understanding what they were and what Fëanor’s experience had been there. He was the equivalent of about nine and on his second and last visit to the gardens of Lórien where his father still occasionally visited to see the place where his mother rested. Maedhros once fell into an enchanted sleep as an elfling.
